Lawyers Linked to Sheinbaum and Morena Will Defend 'el Mayo' Zambada: Anabel Hernández

The journalist points out concerning connections between drug trafficking and Morena's administration.

The renowned investigative journalist Anabel Hernández has made serious accusations exposing the government of Claudia Sheinbaum.

According to Hernández, the law firm representing Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada maintains close ties with the president of Mexico and Morena. Zambada is identified as the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.

These statements suggest a concerning collusion between drug trafficking and the highest levels of political power in Mexico.

Direct accusations

In a recent interview, Hernández pointed out that the drug trafficker's lawyers, Juan Manuel Delgado González and Juan Pablo Penilla, are partners at the law firm RPD Abogados. Sergio Ramírez is also involved in this firm, and they all maintain ties with Morena.

The journalist, a two-time winner of the National Journalism Award, stated that Juan Pablo Penilla supported Sheinbaum's presidential campaign. She also linked him with the deputy Pedro Haces and the governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal, both from Morena.

If these connections are confirmed, they would demonstrate the infiltration of organized crime into national politics. This would compromise the fight against drug trafficking and the country's security.

A long-standing collusion

Hernández has pointed out that these alliances are not new. According to her, they respond to a pattern of protection and cover-up that has grown in recent years.

These revelations emerge at a critical moment. The government of Sheinbaum has been harshly criticized for its handling of security and its apparent tolerance toward the cartels.

Demand for transparency

In light of these accusations, various sectors of society are demanding a thorough investigation. They call for clarifying the links between the government of Sheinbaum and drug trafficking.

These revelations add to other accusations against the government of Morena. The lack of a real fight against drug trafficking has been one of its main criticisms.

The closeness of 'El Mayo' Zambada's lawyers with the ruling party is another link in the chain of complicities. These have weakened the rule of law in Mexico.
