Trump signed an unbelievable executive order for schools and universities
The President of the United States banned public funding for educational institutions that require COVID vaccines
President Donald Trump signed an executive order this Friday that will prohibit federal funding for schools and universities that require students to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The measure comes five years after the arrival of the coronavirus in the United States, which caused the death of more than a million Americans and led to significant economic, social, and educational upheaval due to the policies of Democrat Joe Biden.
The initial advances in the vaccine were driven by the Operation Warp Speed initiative, launched during Trump's first term in 2020, which resulted in the development of highly effective vaccines.
Meanwhile, after Biden's assumption of power, various pharmaceutical companies began to develop vaccines with low levels of effectiveness and a very high rate of adverse effects that resulted in the death of thousands of people.

However, over time, Republicans have shown strong opposition to vaccination mandates imposed on federal employees and by state and local governments.
Republicans have been critical of efforts to make vaccination mandatory at different levels of government, a stance that also reflects their skepticism regarding federal intervention in local health policies.
Despite the initial effectiveness of the vaccines, their ability to prevent virus transmission has decreased, and the COVID-19 variants have become less lethal.

Currently, 21 states have banned vaccination mandates in schools, according to the National Academy for State Public Health. These states include both Republican strongholds like Texas and Florida, as well as Democrat-led jurisdictions like Arizona and Michigan.
Trump's executive order seeks to expand this trend by eliminating federal funding from educational institutions that implement vaccination mandates, although it is still unclear what exact amount of money could be withdrawn if state and local authorities refuse to comply with the measure.
Federal funding for schools has historically been a tool that the United States government has used to intervene in education, which is mostly regulated at the local level.

In the past, the Senate proposed a rule in 1994 that sought to prohibit federally funded schools from promoting "homosexuality as a positive lifestyle alternative."
This measure was supported by Joe Biden, then a senator from Delaware, but was not approved by the House of Representatives, so it never became law.
Additionally, Trump has authorized the initiative of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) of Elon Musk, with the aim of reducing up to USD one billion from the annual federal spending through massive cuts in personnel and funds.

The initial targets include agencies like USAID, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Department of Education, which Trump hopes to eliminate completely.
Trump's executive order reflects his broader stance of reducing the role of the federal government in regulating the daily lives of citizens and strengthening the control of states and local governments.
