Rocha Moya might be using 'bot farms' to clean up his image on social media.

Rocha Moya's posts on social media like Instagram, Facebook, or X have similar positive comments

Social media can be used for many things, from getting informed to trying to "clean a public image". As is well known, the Morena governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, is not a popular figure among the citizens.

On digital platforms, anyone can leave their opinion in comments, whether positive or negative. However, each user has a unique way of writing. This is not the case with the so-called "bots".

Users on social media have accused Rubén Rocha Moya of using automated accounts to generate a positive perception of his administration.

This attempt at digital manipulation occurs in a context of demands for him to resign due to the violence crisis in Sinaloa. Five months have passed and Rocha Moya continues to be pointed out for his ties with the Sinaloa Cartel, according to various journalistic sources.

The post by @malusita76 mentions that Governor @rochamoya_ uses paid accounts to receive support, showing repeated comments that attempt to normalize the situation in Sinaloa, and highlights that this occurs in a post related to a report by @Piedenota about Rocha Moya.

Evidence of bot usage

User Malú Granados was one of the first to identify the pattern of suspicious activity on the governor's networks.

She observed that his posts are saturated with positive comments, with practically identical messages supporting his administration.

"Governor Rocha Moya put the paid accounts to work to support him. See the number of repeated comments trying to normalize what is happening in Sinaloa," denounced Granados.

Some examples of these comments include phrases like:

"USA is getting too involved, Rocha is doing his job very well"

"We support Rocha, removing him won't help anything"

"Getting rid of Rocha won't solve anything"

"Let's let Rocha continue doing his job"

Repetition of the pattern across all networks

On the X page (formerly Twitter) of La Derecha Diario MX, the same comments have been detected in posts about Rocha Moya. The messages, identical in content and structure, appear on various accounts.

An analysis on networks like Facebook and Instagram revealed that the same users replicate positive messages in parallel posts.

For example, user Gustavo Castro wrote on Facebook:

"Greetings teacher Rubén Rocha Moya, governor of the state of Sinaloa, always in your daily activities"

Meanwhile, on Instagram, he posted:

"Greetings teacher Rubén Rocha, governor of the state of Sinaloa. God bless you always. The seafood gastronomy in Sinaloa is excellent"

How much does it cost to hire bots?

Users have begun to question how much money is allocated to these types of digital strategies. They demand that Governor Rocha Moya focus on resolving the security crisis in the region instead of spending on propaganda.

To date, more than 700 homicides, more than 900 disappearances, and a collapse in the nighttime economy of the Sinaloan capital have been recorded.
