Santiago Martínez's Parents Reportedly Called Emily Ceco to Stop Her Complaint

A week after the mistreatment received by Emily Ceco by her ex-husband, Santiago Martínez, the parents of the 25-year-old decided to give an interview to Puro Show (eltrece), where they shared the suspicions they had about the young man before the publicly known episodes of violence occurred.

"We're going through it as best as we can, honestly. As parents, we're terribly shocked," began Andrea Rivero, mother of the Love is Blind participant. 

Then the reporter asked if at any point they had noticed strange or violent behavior from Santiago toward their daughter. To which the woman expressed:  "Not to this extent, but there were things that didn't add up for us. But there was always a justification for every act we noticed or the changes in her when we told her there were things we didn't like about him." 

"The justifications were always his, because practically everything that came out of Emily's mouth was what he told her, and now we can see it," she acknowledged about the manipulation the 31-year-old man had over his girlfriend. 

Emily's father, Claudio Ceco, also expressed his frustration for not being able to help his daughter leave this toxic relationship sooner and entrusted everything to the hands of Justice.

"We're trying to handle it as best as possible and support her. The truth is, I have a lot of anger and a lot of helplessness, I don't want to say anything that could harm Emily in the future in this case," the father explained about the reasons why they preferred to keep their distance from the media. 

Finally, regarding Santiago Martínez's family, Andrea Rivero acknowledged that the young man's parents never put themselves in her daughter's shoes. "The truth is they have no shame. They didn't want her to file a complaint and wanted to cover everything up and kept brainwashing her. Santiago's mother told her:  'that this could be solved within the family, that they could have a meeting because they had something beautiful'", she recalled about the words with which they tried to stop her from making the act of violence public.
