Jorge Macri's administration: another prisoner escaped from a Buenos Aires police station
This new escape occurs just one week after the breakout of six criminals from Alcaidía 6A in Caballito.
Just one week after the escape of six criminals from the 6A Detention Center in Caballito, another escape was recorded this Sunday at a police station in the City of Buenos Aires. This time, the incident took place at the 1D precinct, located in the Retiro neighborhood.
The escape occurred during the afternoon on Sunday, around 4 PM, at the Neighborhood Police Station 1D, located at 400 Lavalle, between Reconquista and San Martín streets. The detained criminal managed to escape during visiting hours.
The inmate, identified as Wilson Marcelo Ramírez Ríos, was wearing a blue tank top and black shorts at the time of the escape. With a light brown complexion and a height of 1.65 meters (5 feet 5 inches), the fugitive was intensely sought by the authorities.

Ramírez Ríos, of Peruvian nationality, was detained for the crimes of aggravated concealment, forgery of public documents, and resistance to authority.
Since Sunday, the City Police have been analyzing security camera footage to locate him. The detainee had been captured on January 13, so he had been behind bars for one month and three days.
The series of escapes keeps the Buenos Aires Government of Jorge Macri on alert, which seems unable to keep criminals behind bars.
As a precedent, at the end of 2024, not only was the leadership of the City Police removed, but the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security also dismissed two senior officials following the escapes that occurred at the Barracas Detention Center and the Offenders Center.

As a result, Sebastián Vela was removed from his position as the civilian head of the ministry, while Martín Ochoa ceased to be the director of Detention Centers.
In response to this crisis, the new director of Detention Centers, Germán Goris, an officer trained in the Navy, took the first measure to reinforce surveillance, ordering that there always be a police officer supervising the inmates in the Buenos Aires detention centers and police stations.
Despite these measures, the escapes continue. It is enough to remember that the previous Sunday, at the Neighborhood Police Station 6A in Caballito, an officer managed to recapture two of the six escapees, while the other four managed to escape in a taxi heading to Lanús.
