Hamas Will Hand Over the Bodies of 3 Argentine Hostages, Killed by the Palestinian Group

Alongside the deceased, the terrorist group Hamas confirmed the release of six additional hostages.

The Palestinian terrorist group Hamas confirmed on Tuesday that it killed the hostages members of the Argentine-Israeli family Bibas and confirmed the delivery of the bodies to Israel.

Along with the delivery of the deceased, the release of six hostages will be added as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, according to a statement from Egypt by the head of its negotiating delegation, Jalil al Haya.

Hamas will deliver the bodies of four hostages who were killed in captivity, including those of Shiri Bibas, of Argentine origin, and her children, Ariel and Kfir, aged two and five.

Kfir, the youngest hostage of the conflict, was kidnapped on October 7, 2023, at just 9 months old from the Nir Oz kibbutz, located near the border with the Gaza Strip. In November of the same year, Hamas claimed that the three had died during, according to them, "Israeli bombings" in the Palestinian enclave, although, due to the lack of evidence, Israel rejected that version.

The children's father, Yarden Bibas, of American nationality but who obtained Argentine citizenship during his captivity, was released alive on February 1 after 16 months in Hamas's hands.

Following the announcement by the Palestinian terrorist group, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked the media to avoid disclosing full names of the deceased hostages who will be repatriated, in order to "protect the privacy of the families at this difficult time." The agreement stipulates that each released hostage will be exchanged for 77 Palestinian prisoners.

"Our thoughts are with Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir, and with all the hostages. We will continue to act to bring them all back home," wrote Netanyahu in a message on social media.

The first stage of the ceasefire will end on March 1 and will allow the release of 33 Israeli hostages held in Gaza in exchange for more than 1,900 Palestinian prisoners detained in Israel.

Netanyahu met yesterday with his security cabinet to define the steps to follow in the second phase of the agreement, which includes the end of the conflict and the release of the remaining hostages who are still alive.
