Roberto Gil Zuarth denounces conflict of interest in the insaculation process

The complaint was filed on February 7 before the internal control body of the presidency

The former senator, Roberto Gil Zuarth, who was disqualified from the judicial power lotteries, filed a complaint for serious administrative offenses.

According to what was published on social media, the complaint was filed with the Comptroller's Office of the Presidency of the Republic by the former senator himself.

Roberto Gil reported that more than 17 candidates who were selected had worked on Arturo Zaldívar's team.

"At least 18 judicial candidates worked directly with the person who later chaired the Executive Power Evaluation Committee", he wrote on his X account.

This happened after not being favored in the draw process for the judicial power election, held in the Senate of the Republic.

Based on Article 58 of the General Law of Administrative Responsibilities, Gil Zuarth demanded the alleged responsibility for administrative offenses.

Who is Roberto Gil Zuarth?

He is a Mexican lawyer and politician, who has held various positions, including federal deputy for Acción Nacional and Undersecretary of Government.

He also served as private secretary to former President Felipe Calderón and was a senator of the republic.

Gil Zuarth is a graduate in Law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

Additionally, he holds a master's degree in Constitutional Law from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, obtained in 2003.

Senate approves the list of candidates

Meanwhile, the Legislative Power Evaluation Committee presented the Senate with the list of candidates for the election of judges to be held on June 1.

The president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, stated that the draw process will not be repeated, assuring that the procedure was legitimate and transparent.
