Emily Ceco confessed that 'I asked Santiago Martínez to stop bothering me'

Emily Ceco and Santiago Martínez became known on "Love is Blind," where they forged a relationship that initially seemed promising. The couple, who went viral on social media platforms like TikTok, even envisioned a future marriage. However, in recent hours, Emily revealed shocking details about the relationship,  accused Santiago of physical violence and explained how the abuse marked the end of their bond.

The decline of the relationship and the incidents of abuse

The journalist and Santiago Martínez lived together after "Love is Blind" and their relationship seemed idyllic. Their first meeting, which went viral on social media, reflected a deep connection between them. However, that image crumbled when Emily accused her partner of physical and psychological violence. In an interview with Fefe Bongiorno and Pepe Ochoa (Bondi Live), Emily recounted the chilling abuse she suffered in the last days of living with him.

Emily's ordeal began when she returned from her bachelorette party, where she attended the play "Sex."  Upon her return, Santiago accused her of infidelity, which triggered a series of violent behaviors. According to her account, he snatched her phone while she was trying to alert her mother, and forced her to listen to what he was saying, giving her a threatening look. At that moment, the journalist asked him to let her go, but he replied with physical aggression.

What followed was a period of distress, where Emily was trapped in her home, with him exerting control over her movements, preventing her from even performing basic activities like going to the bathroom.

Emily finally managed to send a distress message to her sister,  detailing her situation and sending evidence of her condition. It was at that moment that, with fear, she managed to escape the house with only what she was wearing. She took refuge at her parents' house after the report and was given a panic button as a protective measure.

Santiago's contact with Emily did not cease, as he tried to apologize and suggested a private meeting, which the journalist flatly rejected. Emily continued with the report and obtained a restraining order in her favor. Her courage in sharing what happened was key to exposing a problem that affects many people in similar situations.
