Scott Bessent praised Minister Caputo for the successful economic reforms carried out in Argentina.

The Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo, held a meeting with the United States Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, a key official in the negotiations to reach a new agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as he represents the position of the Donald Trump administration within the organization's board.

"The Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, met today with the Argentine Minister of Finance, Luis Caputo, with whom they discussed the impressive reform measures of the Milei Administration to reduce inflation, reactivate growth driven by the private sector, reduce poverty, and increase real wages," indicated the Treasury Department's statement.

"The Secretary praised Finance Minister Caputo for the macroeconomic and structural reform measures that reduce the regulatory burden on the private sector and decrease the size and influence of the government," added the official statement. "Thank you Secretary Scott Bessent for a very constructive meeting," Caputo wrote on X.
