Claudio "Papucho" Di Lorenzo surprised everyone by returning to the Gran Hermano studio after undergoing emergency surgery for abdominal pain. Although it was initially announced that he wouldn't return to the show to prioritize his recovery, the beloved participant reappeared in the audience, where he reunited with his companions and showed his support.
Papucho's unexpected departure from the house was announced by Santiago del Moro through his social media. "Although tonight we will have an official update, I wanted to inform you in advance that Claudio (Papucho) will have to undergo surgery due to complications with his appendix," wrote the host, reassuring the reality show's followers via Instagram.
Soon after, the voice of Gran Hermano confirmed that the surgery had been successful: "Claudio had an affected appendix, so he had to undergo surgery. Don't worry, guys, everything is fine. I especially want to reassure you and say that after the surgery, Claudio is doing very well in the company of his loved ones and attended by excellent professionals."
Papucho's emotional return to the studio
Despite expectations of a prolonged recovery, Papucho surprised everyone by appearing in the audience during the latest gala. Visibly recovered, he appeared lively and engaged, sharing his opinions about the housemates and cheering for his favorites while a positive nomination was underway.
Social media exploded with the reappearance of the former player, generating thousands of comments on X (formerly Twitter): "Papucho resurrected!", "Let him back in, kick Luca out for the 50,000 penalties he got, plus Martina will be happy, Papucho returns, win win win," and "It hurts that Papucho is outside when they said it would take more than a month for him to recover, yet there he is in the audience."
His return sparked a debate among the reality show's followers, who are calling for his reintegration into the house. Although there is currently no official confirmation about a possible reentry, Papucho made it clear his enthusiasm and renewed energy after the surgery. However, the main reason the production might have prevented his return is because he would be unable to exert himself in the leader's games.
