Tláhuac, a point of persistent violence

The Tláhuac borough has been the scene of several violent incidents. The Tláhuac Cartel, led by Felipe de Jesús Pérez Luna, alias "El Ojos", dominated the area until 2017. After his death, clashes between criminal groups continued.

In 2023 and 2024, similar attacks were reported in the area. Merchants and residents have reported that organized crime imposes extortion fees. Many avoid reporting for fear of reprisals.

The victims and the motive of the crime

The ages of the deceased range from 21 to 37 years. So far, the authorities have not confirmed if they were related to illicit activities.

The injured young man was taken to a hospital. His health condition is serious but stable.

Relatives of the victims demand justice. They ask the authorities to clarify the attack and arrest those responsible.

A wave of violence in the capital

The attack in Tláhuac is part of a wave of homicides in the capital. So far in 2024, 25 murders have been reported in different boroughs.

The local government announced a security reinforcement. Even so, residents continue fearing for their safety.

The authorities urge the population to report anonymously any information that helps capture those responsible.
