This has been President Noboa's fight against corruption

One year after assuming the presidency, Noboa faced significant challenges from the heavy legacy, including corruption.

A year after assuming the presidency, Daniel Noboa has faced profound challenges inherited from past administrations.

Among his most notable achievements, Noboa has dismantled corruption networks, starting with the capture of Pablo Muentes, former right-hand man of Jaime Nebot, for influence peddling in the Judiciary.

He also overturned fraudulent contracts, such as the vaccination radars linked to Jan Topic, and confiscated the submarine cable illegally granted by former Vice President Jorge Glas.

Regarding justice, Noboa removed Glas from the Mexican Embassy and imprisoned him for his involvement in proven crimes.

Meanwhile, he supported the Minister of the Interior, Mónica Palencia, who has firmly confronted narco-political mafias, preventing her dismissal. He also shut down the lucrative fuel trafficking business led by Aquiles Álvarez and promises to bring him to justice.

Economically, the president has shown his commitment to the health and well-being of Ecuadorians. Since he paid around 2,640 million to the IESS in 2024, resolving healthcare and pension issues.

Additionally, he settled the debt with retired teachers, and in three months, delivered a new prison in Santa Elena for white-collar criminals.

Despite difficulties and criticisms, the president has managed to put public finances in order, eliminate irregular contracts, and regain control of prisons, facing inherited challenges. Although his management has been questioned, the reality is that Noboa remains steadfast in his purpose of resolving the country's structural problems, without yielding to the interests of narco-politicians.

For all this, despite the criticisms, it is clear that Daniel Noboa has done more in a year than many of his predecessors. Even if some don't like it, Noboa remains the best option for Ecuador's future.
