Alluriquín Hydroelectric Plant: after 14 years the first turbine begins operation

Initially, it will contribute 68 MW to the National Electric System, but it will reach its maximum capacity of 204 MW.

After 14 years of waiting, the Alluriquín Hydroelectric Plant, located in the Toachi-Pilatón hydroelectric complex, has begun operating its first turbine, adding 68 megawatts (MW) to the National Interconnected System.

This milestone for the Ecuadorian electric sector marks the beginning of the synchronization of the energy caused by the plant, with the goal of establishing the commercial delivery of electricity.
