In a recent interview, Pattinson confirmed that filming will begin in late 2025. Although he didn't provide plot details, he assured that the project "will be great." This statement aligns with what Reeves had previously hinted, expressing his excitement for the movie months ago.
Warner Bros. delayed the release of The Batman 2
Despite production starting this year, Warner Bros. decided to change the release date. The sequel was scheduled for October 2, 2026, but will now hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
In its place, the studio will release Alejandro González Iñárritu's new movie, featuring Tom Cruise as the lead. Meanwhile, fans can revisit The Batman on the Max platform and continue exploring Gotham with The Penguin, the series starring Colin Farrell.
Robert Pattinson's other major project
As he prepares to return as the Dark Knight, Pattinson also stars in Mickey 17, the new film by Bong Joon-Ho (Parasite, Snowpiercer).
The story follows Mickey Barnes, a worker cloned each time he dies while exploring an unknown planet. The release is scheduled for March 6, 2025 and promises a blend of science fiction and philosophical reflection.

While there is no official information about the plot, the sequel is expected to continue with the dark and realistic tone of the first movie. Additionally, new characters from the Gotham universe might be introduced.
