Marisa Andino Opened up About Esteban Mirol's Departure From El Nueve: 'he Didn't Tell Me'

The transfer of Esteban Mirol to Telefe caused surprise within El Nueve, where the host worked until the end of 2024. Amid rumors of discontent, his former colleague Marisa Andino broke her silence and gave her version of what happened.

In a conversation with Primicias Ya, the journalist was categorical when referring to the matter and clarified that she was not aware of Mirol's decision. "He must not have said anything because sometimes one is afraid that the project won't happen," she explained.

"It was a surprise for everyone. There was a possibility for weekends, and that was more relaxed for him," she added about Mirol's new phase at Telefe.

Why were they upset with Esteban Mirol at El Nueve?

The journalist resigned from Telenueve al Mediodía in December 2024, and in February 2025, his move to Telefe was confirmed. The news caused anger among some colleagues at El Nueve, as in his farewell he reportedly assured that he would leave the media to focus on social networks.

According to Rodrigo Lussich on Intrusos (América TV), the annoyance arose because Mirol "said he was retiring from television," but in reality, he had an agreement with another channel. "He said he had no planned activity in the field and lied," the journalist stated.

"You left here with an ace up your sleeve. Traitor!" was reportedly the reaction of some workers at El Nueve, according to the panelist.

Esteban Mirol's response to the criticism

Amid the controversy, Esteban Mirol came out to defend himself and denied deceiving his colleagues. "I don't understand why they're upset. I always said I was going to dedicate myself to social networks and that if I returned to TV, it would be with a magazine...," he expressed.

He also clarified that his move to Telefe happened suddenly and that the manager of El Nueve knew he was having conversations with C5N. "Why are they upset now? Is it because it's Telefe?" he questioned.

Regarding Marisa Andino's reaction, Mirol was direct: "I don't know why she's offended. I didn't do anything to her." The host explained that his incorporation into Telefe came just two days before the premiere of a special report called Familias Argentinas.

"They proposed it to me on Tuesday, I asked when we were starting, and they said Thursday. That's how it all happened," he detailed.

He also revealed that Canal 9 contacted him upset for not having informed them. "I think we're all crazy. Imagine if I'm going to inform my list of acquaintances that I'll be on Telefe for four Thursdays," he joked.

The journalist was blunt about the repercussions of his move to Telefe and expressed annoyance with his former colleagues. "Marisa had time to talk to Primicias Ya and Intrusos, but not with me," he launched.

Regarding the authorities of Canal 9, he opined that "before speaking, they should have informed themselves better or asked directly." And he concluded without filters: "But I'm not offended by anyone. They just talked nonsense."
