Mario Pergolini Blasted Riquelme and Gago After Boca's Defeat Against Alianza Lima

The driver targeted the management and coaching staff of Xeneize after the poor debut in the Copa Libertadores.

The defeat of Boca against Alianza Lima in the first leg of Phase 2 of the Copa Libertadores continues to generate repercussions. Among the harshest criticisms was that of Mario Pergolini, who held nothing back and directly targeted Juan Román Riquelme and Fernando Gago.

At the end of his program No se pudo, on Vorterix, Pergolini questioned the decisions in the transfer market and the team's performance. "Why if we bought Huracán's number 5 do we make him play as number 8?" he shot.

Pergolini's harsh criticism of Gago's choice as coach

Pergolini, who was part of Boca's management when Jorge Ameal was president, also criticized Riquelme for choosing Gago as coach.

"Who said the coach is good?" he launched, making clear his distrust of the coach.

He also questioned the signing of Ander Herrera, who barely played one match and then was sidelined due to injury. "Did we buy the Spaniard broken?" he quipped.
