Israel Confirmed That the Body Delivered by Hamas Is Not Shiri Bibas's.
DNA studies determined that the supposed corpse of the mother did not match her identity.
Israel stated that the terrorist group Hamas did not comply with the ceasefire agreement signed between both parties, after forensic analysis showed that one of the four bodies delivered by the Palestinian terrorist group did not belong to the hostage Shiri Bibas.
Shiri, 32 years old, was kidnapped along with her children, Ariel and Kfir, 4 years and 9 months old respectively, during the attack launched by Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which around 1,200 people were killed and another 251 were taken hostage to the Gaza Strip.
The confirmation of the death of the three members of this family, of Argentinian-Israeli origin, at the hands of the terrorist group itself, caused a strong shock in Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) informed the Bibas family that the children's bodies were identified after the delivery of their remains by Hamas. However, military authorities indicated that DNA studies determined that the supposed corpse of the mother did not match her identity.
Following this revelation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hamas of having placed "the body of a woman from Gaza in a coffin" and assured that there will be reprisals.
Meanwhile, the terrorist group Hamas announced that it will carry out an "investigation" to clarify the reasons why its members delivered an incorrect body. Nevertheless, it is very likely that this is a psychological terror tactic employed by the armed group.

The IDF statement
"During the identification process, it was determined that the body received is not that of Shiri Bibas, and no match was found with any other hostage. It is an anonymous and unidentified body," the IDF stated in a communiqué published on X.
The Israeli army described this situation as "a violation of the utmost severity" of the ceasefire agreement "by the terrorist organization Hamas, which is obligated (...) to return four deceased hostages." "We demand that Hamas return Shiri home along with all our hostages," they added.
