The Kirchnerist Florencia Peña on Carlos Tévez: 'i Don't Like Who He Has Become'

The actress, a supporter of Kirchnerism, criticized the Boca Juniors star on Azzaro's streaming show.

Florencia Peña  participated as a guest on the streaming show Azzaro al horno, hosted by journalist Flavio Azzaro, where she took the opportunity to express her opinions on various topics and on the former player  Carlos Tévez.

During the quick questions segment, the actress was critical of the public evolution of the former player, stating that although she had always admired him as a player, she didn't like the person he had become.

Opinions on Tévez and his career

"I always liked him a lot as a player, but I don't like who he became. I think he forgot a bit about where he came from, but well, those are personal matters. That's what I think," commented Peña.

"I always thought he was a guy with a lot of talent for playing, a unique one. I like players who take risks, who take responsibility for the positions they hold, knowing they have a microphone and that there are many people, many kids, and many people listening to them. I like players who convey a different message than he does, but it's a personal matter," the actress clarified.

Despite her admiration for his talent, Peña emphasized that her opinion was purely personal and that she preferred those players who "convey a different message" than Tévez.

Tévez's support for Javier Milei and the political stance of players

Florencia Peña also touched on the topic of the political stances of several players. Tévez publicly showed his support for Javier Milei, following his assumption as president. The former player had stated that although "it's a very difficult time, I believe this is the path to change something," Tévez had said.

Peña took the opportunity to point out that many players don't dare to speak openly about political issues. She stated that often, players prefer to keep a low profile, especially those living outside Argentina.

The actress lamented that what was once a genuine activity, like playing soccer in a neighborhood field, is now completely "distorted" by commercial and economic interests. In her view, today soccer is a business that prioritizes results over the true passion for the sport.

The recent clash with Puma Goity

It's not uncommon for the actress to show her stance and generate criticism. Recently, at Mirtha Legrand's table,  the actress had an exchange with actor Gabriel "Puma" Goity about the rerun on Telefe of "Poné a Francella," the show they both shared in the early 2000s. While the comedian criticized the type of humor used, especially in the sketches of "La Nena" and "Sambucetti," the actor expressed his disagreement. "When an Argentine humor program is broadcast on television, on Telefe, I say: 'please, let's collaborate.' I thought it was an excessively detailed analysis," he commented in relation to Peña's stance.
