Fabián Gianola Confirmed His $600 Million Lawsuit Against the Actors Association
After being cleared of the false accusations by the group of actresses, the actor remains suspended from the entity
The actor Fabián Gianola was interviewed on the show A la tarde (América), where he addressed the lawsuit he filed against the Argentine Association of Actors (AAA) and the false accusations he received from the so-called "collective of actresses."
Currently, Gianola directs and stars in the play "Los sospechosos del piso 10" in Mar del Plata. In the interview, he explained that he sued the AAA and its then-president, Alejandra Darín. However, after the latter's passing, he withdrew the lawsuit against her, although he maintains the legal action against the association. "There were many irregularities. The court ruled a lack of merit in the only complaint that reached a judicial stage, and from there, the collective of actresses insisted on my suspension, which the AAA ended up executing," he explained.
Media accusations and consequences
The actor stated that he learned of his suspension through the media, without receiving official communication from the AAA. For a year, he has been requesting that the measure be lifted. "I couldn't explain what my suspension entails. It was issued when the judge determined my lack of merit, and that unleashed a storm of false accusations. I was acquitted in May 2023, and the final ruling came in August of that same year, although it had no media impact," he highlighted.

According to Gianola, his acquittal was silenced in contrast to the case of the French rugby players. "I understand that there is a serious intentionality behind this," he stated. Additionally, he indicated that the AAA has not offered him an apology nor reversed his suspension despite the court ruling in his favor at all stages.
The lawsuit against the AAA
The actor's lawyer, Matías Garcete, described Gianola's case as "extremely complex," recalling that there were media accusations, acquittals, and a probation. He also detailed the points of the lawsuit against the AAA:
- Damage to public image
- Moral damage
- Lost profits
- Property damage
- Psychological damage and damage to professional prestige
Regarding other accusers, Gianola preferred not to mention names but assured that "everything was absolutely false" and that he continues to evaluate next legal steps with his lawyer.
Extortion and threats
The actor recounted that he was a victim of a smear campaign, including threats and extortion. "They sent me photos of my daughter and threatened her with death in 2017," he reported. He also mentioned the case of a former domestic employee who accused him on a television show, but whose case was dismissed in a few days due to lack of evidence.
Despite the situation, he stated that he never experienced uncomfortable episodes in public. "I always continued going to the supermarket and the stadium. I relied on my children, their mother, and my partner," he expressed.

Controversy with the collective of actresses
Gianola claimed that there was a "ideological persecution" and criticized the actions of the AAA, which according to him, aligned with the pressures of the collective of actresses. "They posted on Instagram that, beyond what the court ruled, they demanded my suspension," he recalled.
The actor announced that he will file new lawsuits against those who were part of this situation. "We are analyzing case by case and we have a lot of information," he announced.
Before concluding the interview, Gianola expressed his dissatisfaction with the media coverage of the case. "I have been acquitted for two years, how long will they continue with this type of notes?" he complained.
