The businesswoman shared a photo on her social media for the anniversary of the former President of the Nation's passing
This February 14 marks four years since the death of Carlos Saúl Menem, and his daughter, Zulemita Menem, decided to remember him with much affection on her social media. The businesswoman shared a photo dating back to one of his last presidential terms.
"Today it's been 4 years, on this special day, on the day of love, you left me, old man. I love you with all my soul, dad", said the former president's daughter with much love.
The post quickly went viral with hundreds of messages of affection toward the former leader. "He's number 1. I hope someone matches him", wrote one user. To which another added: "The best president of Argentina, he's missed".
Another family member who decided to remember the former Riojan leader with joy was Martín Menem, the current President of the Chamber of Deputies. The official decided to celebrate with an encouraging forecast for the Government, as on the day of Carlos Saúl's death, the country saw the lowest inflation in five years.
"January inflation 2.2%. It's the lowest in five years. Milei delivers", he proudly said on his official X account. In addition, he decided to travel to La Rioja, his uncle's birthplace, where he organized a series of meetings for La Libertad Avanza and remembered his relative.
The reasons for Carlos Menem's death
Carlos Saúl Menem, Argentine lawyer and politician, died on February 14, 2021. From 2005 until his death in 2021, he was a national senator representing the province of La Rioja.
However, at 90 years old, his body said enough. Six months before his death, the official presented multiple illnesses that were likely exacerbated by contracting COVID-19 in mid-2020.
Despite overcoming this difficult time, on December 15, 2021, he was hospitalized again due to kidney failure at the Sanatorio Los Arcos.
Menem arrived at the clinic for a prostate check-up, during which a urinary infection was detected, complicated by his heart problems. On Christmas Eve, he was placed in an induced coma, and after two months weakened, he passed away.
