Alpine's Boss Doesn't Rule Out Franco Colapinto Racing in 2025
Oliver Oakes, head of the French team, left open the possibility of the Argentine driver competing.
After the preseason tests, Alpine team boss Oliver Oakes fueled the hopes of Franco Colapinto's fans by not ruling out changes in the driver line-up throughout the year.

"We'll start with Jack[Doohan]and Pierre[Gasly], and then we'll see how everything evolves," expressed the Brit, leaving the door open to possible modifications in the driver duo and for Franco Colapinto to have a chance to race in 2025.
The Argentine also received praise from his team boss, highlighting his performance. "Franco did a great job last year," while acknowledging the pressure Doohan faces in his fight to establish himself in the category: "I feel for Jack. No matter the category, there's always pressure," he commented.
Additionally, Oakes highlighted the media impact caused by Colapinto and the influence of his large fan base: "Everyone wants the clickbait and it's a topic of conversation. He should be given space in some races and, at the end of the day, you have to deliver. I think he's doing a very good job of blocking out the noise and moving forward."
Alpine, the best team in the midfield
According to the specialized media The Race, Alpine is emerging as the best team in the midfield of Formula 1 and could fight for fifth place in the constructors' championship, improving their position from last championship (6th).
Moreover, according to the portal's analysis, the French team's single-seater is a "car that inspires confidence", although it still lags behind more powerful and reliable machines like McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull, the four brands expected to lead performance in the 2025 season according to their estimates.
