After the Interview With Milei, Argentine Stocks Soar on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange

Buenos Aires Stock Exchange records a day of significant gains, reflecting market confidence.

As expected, the controversy caused by the launch of the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, promoted by President Javier Milei through his official account on the social network X, did not have a significant impact on the financial market.

Despite the violent political attacks from the opposition, especially from Kirchnerism, which pushed for the political trial against the Argentine president, aiming to create a climate of tension and uncertainty, they did not achieve their coup objectives.

Additionally, yesterday, Milei was interviewed by TN and clarified the situation regarding $LIBRA, debunking all the political maneuvers of the opposition.

The interview with Milei

Yesterday, President Javier Milei, far from hiding, faced the controversy surrounding the cryptocurrency $LIBRA in an interview with Jonatan Viale on ¿La Ves?, by TN. "I acted in good faith and got slapped," he stated.

"Did the State lose money? No. Did Argentines lose money? At most, it will be four or five. The vast majority of investors are Chinese and American," he clarified, adding: "This episode doesn't damage my credibility in the world."

Regarding the opposition's criticism, Milei was blunt: "The foam will settle, and the evidence will be clear. They are nervous, they know the polls show them very low. They know the economy is recovering." He also predicted: "In the midst of the electoral process, the economy will be growing by 7%, and inflation will be at 1%."

In the interview, Milei targeted Kirchnerism, which seems to forget the disaster they caused in the country: "There are people who forget that when Macri arrived, the Kirchnerists had left 25 billion dollars in futures, and when they returned, they were selling dollars in advance to importers and squandered a lot of money."

To conclude, the president mentioned the great scam of Kirchnerism: "The higher the Central Bank's assets, the lower the level of inflationary dilution. A loss recognition of 45 billion dollars had to be made. The biggest Ponzi scheme in history is called Peso."
