Orsi's ties with Kirchnerist corruption

He met with the Kirchnerist, abusive and corrupt, Alberto Fernández.

Yamandú Orsi, presidential candidate of the leftist coalition Frente Amplio in the upcoming October 27 elections in Uruguay, has had ties with Argentine Kirchnerism for years. Although he denies it now, the ties exist.

Proof of this was when in December 2021 he visited the Casa Rosada and met with the then Argentine president Alberto Fernández. They already knew each other and had had a "working lunch" in Montevideo a few days after Fernández won the presidential elections in November 2019.

This means that Orsi's ties with the Kirchnerist Fernández date back to at least 2019. The Uruguayan visited the then Argentine leader despite strong rumors that he was physically abusing his wife, Fabiána Yáñez, even when she was pregnant.

Several journalists from Argentina had reported that there were domestic violence situations between Fernández and Yáñez, but it seems that Orsi, who leads a political force that calls itself "feminist" and "anti-patriarchal," didn't care.

He had no problem talking and being photographed with Fernández. He had no issue meeting amicably with a corrupt woman-beater. That Fernández hit his wife was proven by the Argentine Justice. Orsi surely knew it, but he didn't care.

A major blunder by Orsi was when he said that Fernández is a "class A" in politics. When asked what he thought of the Argentine politician, he didn't hesitate for a second and rated him as "class A." Alberto Fernández's government was mega corrupt, supported by his vice president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. However, he had no issue rating a corrupt, woman-beater as "class A."

More recently, the mayor of Montevideo, Mauricio Zunino, met face to face with Cristina Fernández de Kirchner at the Instituto Patria on October 4.

Mayor Zunino is from Frente Amplio just like Orsi. In 2022 a criminal court in Argentina sentenced the country's vice president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, to 6 years in prison for the crime of fraudulent administration during the 12 years she and her late husband, former president Néstor Kirchner (2003-2015), governed.

The former leader was accused of having awarded multimillion-dollar road works to a partner and frontman, who was also criminally convicted, along with seven other former Kirchnerist officials.

Despite this horror of mega Kirchnerist corruption, the leaders of Frente Amplio met with the convicted corrupt, and Orsi met with the woman-beater.

Why do they meet with Kirchnerist rulers who stole hundreds of millions of dollars? Why did Orsi call a woman-beater "class A"?
