Lady Unam: Fes Iztacala Security Guard Uses Her Gender to Intimidate Student
With an arrogant tone, the security employee threatened the student for being male, sparking outrage.
Mexico City, February 18, 2025.UNAM faces a new controversy following the release of a video where a security guard from FES Iztacala, nicknamed on social media as "Lady UNAM," threatens a student.
The young man, identified as Aarón Lachowski, was confronted by the security worker, allegedly for not showing his ID.
"You won't get away with it outside"
What outraged users the most was the way the security guard used her gender to threaten the student.
During the argument, she warned him in a defiant tone: "You won't get away with it outside, remember you're a man". This phrase was interpreted as a threat, insinuating that his male condition put him at a disadvantage.
Additionally, the worker's arrogance was evident when she referred to the young man as "little student," attempting to belittle him. At the same time, she proclaimed herself "the boss of UNAM."
Abuse of power and victimization?
The incident has been labeled as an abuse of authority. She not only sought to subdue the student with threats but also attempted to victimize herself to justify her behavior.
The case has sparked a debate on how some people use gender discourse to evade responsibilities or impose their will in conflicts.
UNAM investigates the case
Following the video's viral spread, FES Iztacala reported that it is already investigating what happened. The university assured that it will take disciplinary measures against the employee if her inappropriate conduct is confirmed.
This episode exposes a recurring problem: abuse of power within educational institutions and the use of ideological narratives to cover up authoritarian attitudes.
