The Prominent Families That Reveal the Nepotism Existing in Morena
Within this match, we find an immense number of family members in different positions.
In recent months, President Sheinbaumproposed a reform to supposedly end nepotism. However, it will not come into effect until 2030 and all thanks to the fact that the great dynasties within the movement do not want to lose their privileges.
With efforts from Adán Augusto López, leader of the Morena caucus in the Senate, and senators from the PVEM, they managed to postpone this reform. All aimed at ensuring that in the 2027 midterm elections, the great Morena dynasties can run for public office.

The great families of the "Fourth Transformation."
The Monreal Ávila family is a clear example of how, at times, a single family can have a great influence in politics, especially in Zacatecas. This has caused debate and concern, as it gives the impression that power is concentrated in a few hands. Some of its most well-known members, reflecting this situation, are:
- Ricardo Monreal Ávila: He is a federal deputy for Morena, reelected for the 2024-2027 term. Previously, he was a Senator and coordinator of his party in the Senate, in addition to having held other important positions.
- David Monreal Ávila: Brother of Ricardo, he is the Governor of Zacatecas.
- Saúl Monreal Ávila: Brother of Ricardo and David. He is currently a Senator of the Republic, elected for the 2024-2030 term.
- Catalina Monreal Pérez: Daughter of Ricardo Monreal. She was a candidate for the Cuauhtémoc mayoralty in Mexico City in 2024. After losing the election and unsuccessfully trying to overturn the results, she was appointed head of the National Institute of Social Economy.

The presence of the Batres family in Mexican politics has caused strong questioning due to the concentration of power in several of its members. The most notable cases are:
- Martí Batres Guadarrama: He has held various high-level positions, such as Head of Government of Mexico City and Senator, and currently serves as Director General of the ISSSTE, which demonstrates a long trajectory in positions of power within the government apparatus.
- Lenia Batres Guadarrama: Sister of Martí. Her arrival at the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) is particularly controversial, as it occurred through a direct appointment by President López Obrador, after the Senate failed to reach an agreement. This has raised serious doubts about the independence of the judiciary and the possible political influence in her appointment.
- Valentina Batres Guadarrama: Sister of Martí and Lenia. She holds the position of local Deputy in the Congress of Mexico City, completing the presence of the three siblings in the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches, a situation that fuels criticism about nepotism and concentration of power.

The Alcalde family is another case that draws attention to how some families have a significant presence in Mexican politics, especially within Morena. Among its most prominent members are:
- Luisa María Alcalde Luján: She is the current Secretary of the Interior. Previously, she served as Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare.
- Bertha María Alcalde Luján: Sister of Luisa María. She was proposed by President López Obrador as a candidate for Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), but was not elected.
- Bertha Luján Uranga: Mother of Luisa María and Bertha María. She was president of the National Council of Morena and Comptroller of the Federal District during Andrés Manuel López Obrador's administration as Head of Government.
- Arturo Alcalde Justiniani: Father of Luisa María and Bertha María. He is a labor lawyer and participated in the drafting commission of the project for reforms to the Federal Labor Law.

The Taddei family is another case that has caused discussion about the presence of families in key government positions, particularly linked to the Morena party. Their current positions are:
- Guadalupe Taddei Zavala: President Counselor of the National Electoral Institute (INE), the body responsible for organizing elections in Mexico.
- Ivana Celeste Taddei Arriola: Daughter of Guadalupe Taddei. She is a local deputy in Sonora, reelected in her position.
- Pablo Daniel Taddei Arriola: Son of Guadalupe Taddei. He is the director of the state company Litio para México (LitioMX), responsible for the exploitation of this mineral.
- Jorge Taddei Bringas: He is Guadalupe Taddei's uncle. Recently retired from his position in the federal delegation of social programs in Sonora.

This is where I ask people: Is Morena really against nepotism? Is it all just a show?
