Noboa inaugurated the Ibero-American Summit alongside the King of Spain and Rebelo de Sousa

The president of Ecuador was with King Felipe VI and the president of Portugal in the city of Cuenca.

The President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa,  demonstrated his leadership by inaugurating the XXIX Ibero-American Summit in the city of Cuenca. Accompanied by prominent figures such as King Felipe VI of Spain  and the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Noboa set the tone for the summit, highlighting the importance of addressing regional challenges under the theme "Inclusion, Innovation, and Sustainability."

During his inaugural speech, the Ecuadorian leader focused on youth unemployment, an issue affecting the entire region and which, according to him, must be urgently addressed to ensure a promising future.

"How can we not be concerned about offering a promising future to our youth to ensure them a better future?  Therefore, we must promote policies that encourage public and private investments and allocate resources to education," Noboa stated.

He also highlighted that job creation and professional training will not only boost the economy but also strengthen the social fabric.

In this context, he praised the approval of the "Commitment to Employability," a key agreement reached during the XV Ibero-American Business Meeting, which will foster collaboration between the public and private sectors.

International cooperation: Noboa's transformative vision

The Ecuadorian leader emphasized the importance of South-South and Triangular Cooperation, describing it as a successful model that promotes shared development and knowledge transfer among Ibero-American countries.

"Together we are stronger, and with coordinated efforts, we can turn our differences into strengths," Noboa emphasized, reflecting his vision of a united and collaborative region.

Business meeting: a boost for the regional economy

The XV Ibero-American Business Meeting, a crucial component of the summit, brought together entrepreneurs from across the region to design strategies that drive economic growth and job creation, with a special focus on young people.

In this vein, Noboa reaffirmed his commitment to the private sector as a driver of development: "Support for entrepreneurs is essential to build a more prosperous and equitable region,"  he noted.

Meanwhile, King Felipe VI also spoke at the meeting, highlighting the importance of providing tools to the new generations.

"The new generations are the engine of our societies, and we must ensure they have the necessary tools to face the challenges of the present and the future," the Spanish monarch emphasized.

Noboa delivered a message of hope and unity

The Ecuadorian president closed the summit with an inspiring call for joint action to ensure an inclusive and sustainable future for Ibero-America.

"Let's create a space where all citizens of Ibero-America have access to the same opportunities, without discrimination," Noboa declared, making clear his vision of a more equitable and supportive region.

Sommerfeld and the relevance of the summit

The Ecuadorian Chancellor, Gabriela Sommerfeld, also highlighted the positive impact of this event, emphasizing how it strengthens the historical and cultural ties between Ibero-American nations.

"The summit is an essential space to consolidate a more united community in the face of common challenges", Sommerfeld expressed.
