Exclusive: Jaime Dunn Is Working on His Potential Presidential Candidacy
The financial analyst told La Derecha Diario that he is working hard to legitimize his presidential candidacy.
In the recent interview with La Derecha Diario, Jaime Dunn highlighted the work that this media outlet has started, as it is a media outlet that is not linked to, nor accountable to, the regime. Meanwhile, the financial analyst revealed that he is working hard to justify his presidential candidacy based on what he calls the 5Ps.
According to Dunn, those who intend to run for president must consider what he has called the 5Ps (person, program, political party, money, and people), and at least 4 of these Ps must be present. Immediately after, he presented his proposal with which he seeks to implement a sustainable economic model in Bolivia, emphasizing the need for a structured approach that considers different stages for the country's recovery.
Dunn suggests that the national economy must go through two essential phases: the "emergency room" and the "rehabilitation". In the first, immediate measures must be applied to stop the crisis, while in the second, a sustainable growth model would be implemented. In this regard, the specialist emphasized that Bolivia can't continue to depend paternalistically on the State, but must give prominence to individuals and entrepreneurs who generate innovation and employment.
One of the central points of his analysis is that the current economic crisis is not due to a lack of resources, but to a government model that, according to him, hinders the country's development. "Socialism has turned the government into an obstacle for development," he stated, adding that the idea that the State must distribute wealth only creates dependency, while it distributes "crumbs" instead of fostering wealth generation.
For Dunn, the key doesn't lie in finding a "political savior," but in designing a "good salvation recipe." He warned that a model where wealth depends on the State to be redistributed creates a vicious circle of corruption and economic stagnation. He also pointed out that the country currently faces an unsustainable fiscal deficit, growing debt, and inflation that is beginning to manifest. "A government should not come to manage chaos, but to dismantle it," he assured.
Reduction of the state
As a first measure within the "emergency room," Dunn proposes an immediate reduction of the fiscal deficit, as he considers it the main cause of economic problems. In this regard, he advocates for cutting state waste and returning money to the citizens, emphasizing that the State's resources belong to the people and should not be used to maintain unnecessary bureaucracy.
He also highlighted the importance of establishing favorable conditions for private investment and job creation. According to Dunn, Bolivia must focus on eliminating bureaucratic obstacles and promoting entrepreneurship through incentives and clear policies. "The current state apparatus is based on taxes, regulations, corruption, and extortion. A structural change is necessary for the economy to flourish," he asserted.
The analyst also emphasized that the economic model must promote competitiveness and efficiency in all productive sectors, allowing the private sector to be the main driver of growth. "It's not about waiting for the government to save us, but about creating the conditions for people to move forward with their own efforts," he pointed out.
With this vision, Jaime Dunn proposes an economic alternative based on efficiency, innovation, and wealth generation, moving away from the statist model that, according to him, has led the country to a structural crisis. His proposal seeks to lay the foundations for a more dynamic and self-sufficient economy, focused on growth and reducing dependence on the state apparatus.
