Today, the United Nations General Assembly approved Ukraine's resolution that condemns the Russian invasion. However, the United States voted against it, along with Russia, Israel, and other countries.
The resolution was supported by 93 votes in favor, while 18 countries opposed it, including the United States, which had already expressed its rejection of the text. In the case of Argentina, it abstained.
Besides the United States, Russia, Belarus, Hungary, Israel, North Korea, the Central African Republic, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Mali, Sudan, Niger, Nicaragua, Palau, and the Marshall Islands voted against it.

The resolution, driven by the European Union and Ukraine, refers to "the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine" and demands that Russia "immediately, completely, and unconditionally withdraw all its armed forces from Ukrainian territory within its internationally recognized borders".
Previously, the United States had presented another shorter proposal, which lamented the "tragic loss of life in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine" and made a "call for a prompt end to the conflict and to seek a lasting peace between both countries".
Trump's statement
In this context, U.S. President Donald Trump made a post on his Truth Social account, where he spoke about his meeting with the President of France: "Today, President Emmanuel Macron of France joined me in the Oval Office to talk at the G7 Summit".
"The meeting was convened by Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada, the current president of the G7, to recognize the third anniversary of the war between Russia and Ukraine, which would never have started if I were president", he added.

"Everyone expressed their goal of seeing the end of the war, and I emphasized the importance of the vital 'Critical Minerals and Rare Earth Agreement' between the United States and Ukraine, which we hope will be signed very soon", Trump continued.
He also explained that this agreement is about an "economic partnership" that "will ensure that the American people recover the tens of billions of dollars and military equipment sent to Ukraine, while helping Ukraine's economy grow as this brutal and savage war comes to an end".
To conclude, Trump revealed: "At the same time, I am in serious talks with President Vladimir Putin of Russia about ending the war, and also about important economic development transactions that will take place between the United States and Russia. The talks are going very well!".
