The Armed Forces Conducted Security Exercises at the Atucha Nuclear Complex
It was a training exercise aimed at strengthening coordination in potential emergency situations.
On a key day for the security of the country's strategic infrastructures, the Atucha Nuclear Complex was the scene of a visit from the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces as part of a training exercise aimed at strengthening inter-institutional coordination in the face of potential emergency situations.
The delegation was led by Brigadier General Xavier Julián Isaac, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, who was received by the president of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina, Dr. Alberto Lamagna.
During the tour, the heads of all branches of the Armed Forces, technical authorities of the company, and representatives of the Ministry of Defense were also present.
In this context, the importance of the coordinated work between the institutions involved was emphasized to ensure the maximum protection of one of the country's most important energy infrastructures.

The security exercise, which took place throughout the week, included the deployment of military units, specialized vehicles, and uniformed personnel in the area, with the aim of evaluating and optimizing the response protocols to possible threats.
These maneuvers are essential to ensure an effective and coordinated reaction in case of emergencies, thus reinforcing the prevention and protection of national strategic resources.
The cooperation between the Armed Forces and the nuclear sector is of crucial importance to ensure the security of critical facilities.
In a world where threats can arise from multiple fronts, both external and internal, the interaction between different state agencies and the companies responsible for energy generation is key to maintaining the stability of the system.
In this sense, the exercises carried out not only improve operability but also strengthen the commitment of all actors involved in the protection of the country's electricity supply.

Nucleoeléctrica Argentina
Nucleoeléctrica Argentina is the company responsible for the operation of the nuclear power plants Atucha I, Atucha II, and Embalse, which together have an installed capacity of 1,763 MW and contribute approximately 8% of the country's electricity.
From their social media, they communicated: "We received the authorities of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces at Atucha, as part of a training exercise. The cooperation between the armed forces and the nuclear sector is key to safeguarding the enormous nuclear potential of our country."
In addition to the operation and maintenance of these plants, the company is responsible for the commercialization of energy in the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM) and the development of projects that ensure the operability and security of its facilities.
With this type of initiative, the commitment of Javier Milei's Government to protect its strategic assets is reaffirmed, ensuring energy security and the defense of its critical infrastructures against any eventuality.
