A group of people walking along Playa Chica in Mar del Plata discovered the body of a man lying among the rocks on Tuesday night. The discovery occurred after 9 p.m., at the height of Castelli Street, when a call to 911 alerted the Police.

The body was in a difficult-to-access area, a few meters from the sea, among the stones placed as a containment for the pedestrian walkway. According to police sources, it showed signs of blows at first glance.

Rescue work and initial investigations

After the report, officers from the 9th precinct, firefighters, personnel from the Special Risks division, and Civil Defense arrived at the scene. Given the complexity of the terrain, rescuers used harnesses to extract the body and flashlights to illuminate the area.

According to initial estimates, the victim was a man between 30 and 40 years old, although his identity has not yet been confirmed. Additionally, a severe blow to the head was detected, with the injury visible at first glance.

What's next in the investigation?

The case is in the hands of prosecutor Carlos Russo, in charge of UFIyJE No. 7 in Mar del Plata. It was ordered to analyze nearby security cameras and conduct other investigations to determine how the body got to that location.

By Wednesday noon, the body had not yet been identified. The autopsy, scheduled for 2 p.m., will be key to establishing the cause and exact time of death. According to police sources, given the state in which it was found, it is estimated that the death occurred within the last 24 hours.

In early January, the body of Alejandro Cucci, a 29-year-old who had been missing since December 26, was found. His body appeared at the intersection of 515 Street and Provincial Route 11, near Los Acantilados.
