The mayor of General Pueyrredon, Guillermo Montenegro, announced an important initiative to improve services in the city of Mar del Plata, highlighting the public-private collaboration model that not only optimizes available resources but also ensures greater efficiency and quality in projects.
Starting in March, the WiFi service in Parque San Martín will be provided by Starlink, the renowned satellite internet company founded by Elon Musk. This advancement highlights the importance of private investment in the development of public works.
The most notable aspect of this project is that the necessary infrastructure works to implement this technological solution were carried out without the use of public funds, thanks to the sponsorship of Cabrales company.
This type of initiative demonstrates how voluntary initiatives from the private sector can generate a positive impact on the community without relying on taxpayers' money.
Instead of using public resources, it was possible to optimize the use of existing infrastructure and modernize one of the city's most emblematic parks with the active participation of the business sector.
Montenegro shared this news through his profile on the social network X, highlighting that these types of projects constitute what he calls the "Mar del Plata model," where private investment plays an essential role in the development of public spaces, generating tangible benefits for the community without incurring additional costs for citizens.
"From March, the WiFi in Parque San Martín will be from Starlink. And all the works seen in the video were done with the sponsorship of Cabrales. This is the Mar del Plata model: private investment and public spaces for the people. Come one by one," communicated Guillermo Montenegro on social media.
Through private financing, the staff of the Municipal Urban Services Entity (Emsur) carried out various maintenance tasks, including the installation of new benches and the painting of the mast where the Argentine flag flies next to the statue of General San Martín.
Painting work was also done on the fountain located in the center of the park, and several trash cans were refurbished, among other tasks.
Additionally, the municipal government continues to advance with new agreements within the framework of its sponsorship plan. This program allows private companies to take charge of maintenance, cleaning, and renovation tasks in different sectors of the city, with the aim of strengthening urban infrastructure and promoting environmental care.
