A Gimnasia Player Was Arrested After Being Accused of Kidnapping His Partner

The player Alan Sosa, from Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, was arrested in the town of Gonnet after being accused of deprivation of liberty and aggravated coercion by the relationship.

The incident occurred in the home he shared with his partner and was reported by neighbors who alerted the police.

How Alan Sosa's arrest happened

The event occurred on Monday night, when police officers went to Sosa's residence after receiving 911 calls. Upon arrival, they found the victim in a state of nervousness and distress.

According to the woman's testimony, they had a heated argument, and when she tried to leave the house, the player prevented her from leaving. To stop her from going, he took the keys to the electric gate and blocked all exits. The victim remained detained until the police arrived.

The accusation against the player

After taking the statement from the victim and gathering evidence at the scene, the officers proceeded to arrest Alan Sosa. The case was assigned to the Functional Unit of Instruction and Trial No. 17, with the intervention of prosecutor María Eugenia Di Lorenzo.

The player was charged with unlawful deprivation of liberty and aggravated coercion by the relationship. He is detained at the 13th Police Station in Gonnet, where he spent the night awaiting further judicial resolutions.

Alan Sosa is 21 years old and plays as a left winger for Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. He completed all his youth training at the club and debuted in January 2023. Although he lost prominence with the change of coach, he was still being considered in the professional squad.
