Galatasaray Suspended Mauro Icardi's Contract: the Reasons and Consequences

Despite this measure, Galatasaray agreed that Icardi would continue receiving his salary. Additionally, it set a key condition:the forward had to return to Türkiye before April 1. Otherwise, the club would evaluate what action to take.

The Turkish team's management requested that Icardi continue his rehabilitation in Istanbul and maintain an active presence in the matches. They also asked him to reduce his media exposure. "No more scandals, you're an elite player and we pay you a fortune," the directors reportedly expressed according to the DDM journalist.

The Argentine faces a decisive decision. Professionally, his continuity at Galatasaray depends on his return to Türkiye. Personally, his relationship with China Suárez could lead him to plan a life in Argentina. The uncertainty about his future remains latent.
